Identity & access management that controls who gets in .

Most breaches start with a stolen identity, not a broken firewall. Billow's identity and access management (IAM) services put the right controls around who can access what — single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, privileged access management and identity governance — the foundation of a Zero Trust security model.

Overview

What is identity and access management?

Identity and access management (IAM) is the framework of policies and technologies that ensures the right people have the right access to the right resources — and nothing more. It governs three things: how users prove who they are (authentication), what they're allowed to do once verified (authorization), and how that access is managed over time as people join, move and leave.

IAM matters because identity is now the primary attack surface. The vast majority of breaches involve stolen or misused credentials, not a broken perimeter — so controlling access is controlling risk. Strong IAM means an attacker with one stolen password still can't get far, a departing employee's access is revoked cleanly, and no one carries permissions they no longer need.

Billow designs and implements IAM solutions that are both secure and usable — single sign-on so people have one identity across apps, multi-factor authentication to verify it's really them, privileged access management to guard admin accounts, and identity governance to keep access right over time. It's the foundation every Zero Trust program is built on.

What's included

Every layer of identity, secured

Our IAM services cover the full picture of identity management — from how a user logs in once to how their access is governed for as long as they're with you.

Single sign-on (SSO)

One secure identity across all your applications — fewer passwords, less friction, and a single place to enforce and revoke access.

Multi-factor authentication

A second factor beyond the password, so a stolen credential alone isn't enough — the highest-impact control you can deploy.

Privileged access management

Extra protection for admin and service accounts — credential vaulting, just-in-time access and session recording for your riskiest identities.

Identity governance & lifecycle

Automated joiner-mover-leaver processes and access reviews, so people get the access they need — and lose it when they don't.

Access control & least privilege

Role-based access control and least-privilege policies, so every identity has exactly the permissions it needs and no more.

Directory & federation

Modern identity directories and federation, connecting users, apps and partners securely across cloud and on-premises.

Why IAM matters

Identity is the new perimeter.

The old model — trust everyone inside the network — is gone. With cloud, remote work and SaaS, the only real boundary is identity. Get access control right and you close the door most attackers walk through.

Stops credential attacks

MFA and strong authentication mean a stolen password alone gets an attacker nowhere — closing off the most common breach path.

Least privilege by default

People get exactly the access they need. When an account is compromised, the blast radius is small instead of catastrophic.

Clean joiners & leavers

Access is granted and revoked automatically as people move — no orphaned accounts, no ex-employees still holding the keys.

Zero Trust foundation

IAM is what makes "never trust, always verify" real — the base layer every modern security architecture is built on.

Platforms

IAM platforms we work with

We implement and integrate the leading identity platforms — and recommend the right fit for your stack rather than forcing one.

EID

Microsoft Entra ID

Azure AD · Microsoft 365

Identity for Microsoft-centric estates — SSO, MFA, conditional access and governance across Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
OKT

Okta

Workforce & customer identity

Vendor-neutral identity across any stack — SSO, adaptive MFA and lifecycle management for workforce and customer identity.
PAM

Privileged access

PAM & secrets management

Dedicated privileged access management and secrets tooling to vault credentials and control your most powerful accounts.

How we engage

From assessment to managed cloud

01

Assess

We review how identity and access work today — directories, apps, admin accounts and gaps — and map the risks.

02

Design

An IAM services architecture and roadmap — SSO, MFA, PAM and governance — sequenced by impact and built toward Zero Trust.

03

Implement

We roll out and integrate the controls with minimal disruption, prioritizing the highest-impact wins like MFA first.

04

Govern

Access reviews, monitoring and lifecycle automation keep access right over time — not just correct on day one.

FAQ

IAM questions

Identity and access management (IAM) is the framework of policies and technologies that ensures the right people have the right access to the right resources — and no more. It covers how users are identified, authenticated (proving who they are, e.g. with MFA), and authorized (what they're allowed to do), across your applications, data and infrastructure.
Authentication verifies who a user is — for example, a password plus multi-factor authentication. Authorization determines what that verified user is allowed to do — which applications, data and actions they can access. IAM handles both: confirming identity, then enforcing least-privilege access based on it.
Privileged access management (PAM) secures the accounts with elevated permissions — administrators, service accounts and anything that can make significant changes. Because these accounts are the top target for attackers, PAM adds extra controls: vaulting credentials, granting access just-in-time, and recording privileged sessions.
Zero Trust is a security model that assumes no user or device is trusted by default — every access request is verified. IAM is the foundation of Zero Trust: strong authentication (MFA), least-privilege authorization, and continuous verification of identity are what make "never trust, always verify" enforceable.
Yes. We implement single sign-on (SSO) so users have one secure identity across applications, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to add a second factor beyond passwords. Both are core to a modern IAM program and among the highest-impact security controls you can deploy.
