Prove your security and improve it .

Customers, regulators and boards increasingly want evidence, not assurances. Billow’s compliance and security audit services measure your security against the frameworks that matter SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and NIST find the gaps, and help you close them and stay audit-ready.

Overview

What is a security audit?

A security audit is a systematic evaluation of an organization’s systems, controls and practices against a defined standard or framework, to measure how well information is protected. A compliance audit goes a step further, checking whether you meet the specific requirements of a regulation or contract — such as SOC 2, HIPAA or PCI DSS.

The two are increasingly non-negotiable. Enterprise customers won’t sign without a SOC 2 report; healthcare demands HIPAA; card data requires PCI DSS; government leans on NIST. Beyond the checkbox, an honest audit surfaces the real weaknesses an attacker would find first — turning “we think we’re secure” into evidence, and evidence into a plan.

Billow assesses your environment against the framework you need, runs a gap analysis, and — crucially — helps you remediate, not just report. You get a precise picture of where you stand, a prioritized roadmap to close the gaps, and the documentation and evidence to pass the audit and stay compliant between them.

What's included

Prove and improve your posture

Our IT security audit and compliance services cover the whole cycle from measuring where you stand against a framework to closing the gaps and staying audit-ready.

Security assessment & audit

Evaluate your systems, controls and practices against a chosen framework to measure exactly how well you’re protected.

Compliance gap analysis

Compare your environment to SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI or NIST and get a prioritized list of every gap to close.

Framework readiness

Prepare for and reach conformance with the standards your customers and regulators require evidence and all.

Remediation roadmap & support

A ranked plan to fix the gaps and hands-on help implementing the controls, not just a report to file.

Policy, controls & documentation

The policies, control mappings and audit evidence that turn good practice into something you can prove.

Continuous compliance & re-audit

Ongoing monitoring and periodic re-assessment so you stay compliant between audits not just on audit day.

Why audit

An audit isn’t paperwork it’s proof.

In regulated industries and enterprise deals, you increasingly can’t sell, partner or operate without demonstrating your security. An audit turns your posture into evidence — and shows you exactly where to get stronger.

Win the deal

Enterprise and public-sector buyers demand proof — SOC 2, HIPAA. An audit is often the gate to the contract.

Find real gaps

An honest assessment surfaces the weaknesses attackers would find first — before they do.

Reduce risk & liability

Meeting recognized frameworks lowers breach risk and the legal and financial exposure that follows one.

Clarity, not guesswork

You get a precise picture of where you stand and a ranked plan to improve no more assuming.

How we engage

From assessment to attestation

01

Scope

We define the framework, systems and boundaries in scope, so the audit measures what actually matters.

02

Assess

We evaluate controls, run the gap analysis and document findings against the standard.

03

Remediate

We prioritize and help close the gaps policies, controls and evidence to reach conformance.

04

Attest

We prepare you for the formal audit or attestation, and keep you audit-ready over time.

FAQ

Compliance & audit questions

A security audit is a systematic evaluation of an organization's systems, controls and practices against a defined standard or framework, to measure how well information is protected. It identifies vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and control gaps, and produces evidence of where you stand — the basis for both improving security and demonstrating it to customers, regulators and auditors.
A security audit assesses how effective your controls actually are at protecting systems and data. A compliance audit checks whether you meet the specific requirements of a standard, regulation or contract — such as SOC 2, HIPAA or PCI DSS. They overlap heavily: good security makes compliance easier, and frameworks encode security best practice, but compliance is about proving conformance to a defined rule set.
We assess and prepare organizations against the frameworks that matter most to US enterprises and the public sector — including SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST (CSF and 800-53) and CIS Controls. We map your environment to the relevant framework, identify gaps, and help you reach and maintain conformance.
A gap assessment compares your current security controls and practices against a target framework or standard and identifies exactly where you fall short. The output is a prioritized list of gaps with recommended remediation — so instead of guessing, you have a clear, ranked plan to reach compliance or improve your posture.
Yes. An audit that only hands you a list of problems has limited value. Beyond assessing and reporting, we build a prioritized remediation roadmap and help you fix the gaps — policies, controls, configurations and evidence — so you don't just find out where you stand, you improve it and stay audit-ready.
