Data & AI AI Agents · MCP

AI agents that actually do the work .

A chatbot tells you how; an agent does it. Billow builds AI agents that reason about a goal and act across your systems — connected through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — with least-privilege access, guardrails and governance so capability never outruns control.

Overview

What are AI agents and MCP?

AI agents are systems built on large language models that can reason about a goal, decide what to do, and use tools and data to get it done — and MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that connects those agents to your systems securely. Together they turn AI from something that answers into something that acts — the shift often called agentic AI.

The leap from chatbot to agent is the leap from advice to action — and that’s where the value and the risk both live. An agent that can reach your systems can save enormous time, but an agent with access is effectively an insider: it needs the same least-privilege, approval and monitoring discipline you’d apply to any powerful account. Capability without governance is a liability.

Billow designs and builds AI agents for the tasks where they genuinely help, connects them to your data and tools through MCP so you’re not hand-coding every integration, and wraps them in guardrails — least privilege, human-in-the-loop approvals, prompt-injection defenses, logging and monitoring. You get agents that are useful and accountable, not a demo you’re afraid to deploy.

What's included

Agents that are useful and accountable

Our AI agent and MCP services cover the whole build — from finding the right task to connecting, governing and running the agent.

AI agent design & build

Design and build custom agents for real, multi-step tasks scoped to where they add genuine value.

MCP integration

Connect agents to your data and tools through the Model Context Protocol no bespoke integration for every source.

Tool & data connectivity

Give agents controlled access to the systems they need CRM, ERP, tickets, files to actually do the work.

Multi-agent orchestration

Coordinate multiple specialized agents on larger workflows, with clear handoffs and control.

Guardrails & governance

Least-privilege access, human-in-the-loop approvals and prompt-injection defenses capability with control.

Monitoring & support

Logging, monitoring and support so agents stay safe, effective and accountable as they run.

Why AI agents

An agent with access is an insider build it accordingly.

Agents are powerful precisely because they can act. That’s the value and the risk. Done right, they save real time; done carelessly, they’re a breach waiting to happen. We build for the former.

Capability with control

Least privilege, approvals and monitoring mean agents do useful work without becoming a liability.

Connected, not siloed

MCP lets agents reach the systems where the work lives securely and consistently.

Real time saved

Agents take multi-step, cross-system tasks off people the work that eats hours and adds little.

Accountable by design

Every action logged and governed so you can trust, and prove, what an agent did.

How we engage

From task to governed agent

01

Scope

We find the tasks where an agent genuinely helps multi-step, cross-system, high-volume and define guardrails.

02

Build

We design and build the agent’s reasoning and actions, tested against real cases.

03

Connect

We connect it to your systems through MCP, with least privilege, controlled access.

04

Govern

We add approvals, monitoring and logging and keep the agent safe and effective in production.

FAQ

AI agent & MCP questions

An AI agent is a system built on a large language model that can reason about a goal, decide what steps to take, and use tools and systems to accomplish it — rather than just answering a question. Unlike a chatbot, an agent can take action: look things up, call APIs, update records and complete multi-step tasks, checking its own work along the way.
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI agents and assistants to external tools, data and systems in a consistent, secure way. Instead of custom-coding every integration, MCP gives agents a common interface to your data sources and services — making it faster and safer to give an agent the access it needs to be useful.
A chatbot responds with text. An AI agent acts — it plans, uses tools and systems, and carries a task to completion. Where a chatbot might tell you how to reset an account, an agent can actually reset it. That capability is powerful, which is exactly why agents need guardrails and governance around what they can access and do.
They can be, with the right controls. An agent with access to your systems is effectively an insider — so we build in least-privilege access, human-in-the-loop approval for sensitive actions, guardrails against prompt injection, logging and monitoring. Security isn’t an afterthought; it’s designed into the agent from the start.
Agents shine on multi-step, judgment-light work that spans systems: triaging and routing requests, gathering and summarizing information, updating records across tools, drafting responses, and handling routine service tasks end to end. We help you find the tasks where an agent adds real, governed value — not just a demo.
